About Us

Bringing Bristol’s Pakistani community together

Pakistan Community Organisation Bristol (PCOB) brings people together to improve the quality of life, wellbeing and opportunities of Bristol’s Pakistani community.

Our community has helped shape Bristol over generations—through local businesses, public services, voluntary work and neighbourhood life. PCOB aims to build on that contribution, celebrate our heritage and help ensure that the next generation has the support and opportunities to thrive.

We want people to have a voice in decisions that affect them and a straightforward route to the services they need. Working with community organisations, mosques and public bodies, we bring forward local concerns and help build relationships that lead to practical action.

Our work

PCOB helps facilitate NADRA surgeries in Bristol, working with the Pakistan High Commission in London and the Pakistan Consulate in Birmingham to improve local access to documentation and consular services.

We also bring community representatives and institutions together. This included helping organise the Pakistan Consul General’s visit to Bristol in September 2026, providing an opportunity to discuss community needs and future cooperation.

Our priorities include developing opportunities for young people, supporting the involvement of women and older residents, improving access to essential services and strengthening relationships across Bristol’s diverse communities.

Our vision for a community centre

We are working towards a dedicated Pakistani community centre in Bristol: a welcoming place where generations can meet, celebrate their culture, access support and develop new skills.

The centre remains a proposal. Premises and funding have not yet been secured. We are seeking community input and working to build the partnerships needed to take it forward.

Chairman, Pakistan Community Organisation Bristol

Suleman Butt is a community-focused leader committed to serving and empowering the Pakistani community in Bristol. As Chairman of the Pakistan Community Organisation Bristol, he works to strengthen community connections, promote cultural understanding, support families and young people, and create opportunities for positive engagement.

With experience in community outreach, leadership, communications and organisational management, Suleman is dedicated to building a stronger, more inclusive and connected community across Bristol.

Mahar Aslam is a dedicated community leader and Senior Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Community Organisation Bristol, committed to serving the Pakistani community and strengthening community relations across Bristol.

With a strong passion for public service, community development and social welfare, he works to promote unity, inclusion and opportunities for individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.

Through community engagement, cultural initiatives and collaboration with local organisations, he aims to build stronger connections between the Pakistani community and the wider Bristol community.

His vision is to empower future generations, support those in need, celebrate Pakistani heritage, and contribute towards a more inclusive, prosperous and united Bristol.
